MATHS AND SCIENCE
about Our Maths and Science Centre
According to the World Economic Forum’s Gobal Information Technology Report of 2016, South Africa ranked last in maths and science education. The world is entering the fourth industrial revolution and if South Africa is to compete, our maths and science education needs to improve.
Our centre has been operational since 2004. We focus on grade 12 learners who have failed maths and science and try to get them a pass rate. Achieving a pass rate in maths and science increases the chances of our learners to gain employment or to further their studies.
Our centre is considered one of the best re-write centres on the East Rand. We register 80 learners each year and, as seen in the table below, our pass rate for both maths and science is over 90%, well above the national average.
We receive strong support from the Ekurhuleni Department of Education and the local schools. Our centre is financed entirely by our sponsors and donors.
